Fustsal for the Football Soul!!

>Soccer in the Streets is forever committed to working with communities to expand access to soccer for Atlanta's children⚽!!

>Recently, we began a pilot program in partnership with the City of Atlanta Parks and Recreation Department to introduce the game of Futsal to kids in several neighborhoods.

>What is "Futsal," you ask? Futsal is a type of soccer game played on hardcourts (often basketball courts) with a smaller ball and 5 players per side.

>This game is highly useful for SITS because it prepares children for the 5 aside play in our StationSoccer leagues. Futsal is also a highly effective version of the game that helps provide access to soccer in urban environments; it can be played in literally any flat paved space.

> Last Tuesday, Bessie Branham Park in Kirkwood hosted the first of a series of jamboree-style immersion events. The next two will be held at Peachtree Hills Rec Center.

>Thanks to our friends at Parks and Rec and, especially, deep, deep thanks to our friends at Senda Athletics for sponsoring the equipment used for this project!!
