Do you want to become a certified Referee?
We are offering a referee program to our youth players! This program is important for the kids as they can get the first-hand experience at a job opportunity. We know there is a lack of entry-level jobs for teenagers. There is also a lack of screened, trained, and certified referees, and many quit after only a short time.
The benefits of this program include a learning environment that promotes competency and professionalism, Financial literacy training and introduction to money management & banking, opportunity to earn money, access to opportunities for advancement within the referee pathway, and real employment experience and resume-building assets.
We need to bridge the gap for young people from under-resourced and under-represented communities to have access to the entry-level jobs that are afforded through soccer.

Success Story:
This is Alicia, a Soccer in the Streets referee program graduate! She got the opportunity to referee her first games at RYSA fields for the AFC Lightning tournament. This was a unique experience for Alicia as she got to referee nine games in two days. She was very excited to put her skills to great use being an assistant referee.
The head referee for Alicia’s games commented:
“I had the pleasure of working with Alicia and I was very proud of her after hearing it was her very first games as a referee assistant,” said C. Raines. “She did a fantastic job!”
Keep up the great work Alicia, we are proud of you!
